Welcome to Hillcrest!

If you are new to Hillcrest, new to Abilene, or just new to church in general, we want you to feel welcome.

Here’s What to Expect

The Hillcrest family is a community of imperfect servants, growing spiritually, seeking a relationship with Jesus. We welcome you and your family.

Sunday Mornings

We meet every Sunday at 9:00 a.m. for worship. You’ll be greeted by our friendly members at the door. During this assembly, you can expect that we will sing, pray, observe what we refer to as communion or the Lord’s Supper, take up an offering, hear a message, and offer a response time for those in need. This time together usually lasts a little over an hour. Then we break for Bible classes.

Sunday Evenings

We usually meet in homes with our Life Groups on Sunday nights. We also offer a more traditional worship service service in the Chapel at 6:00 p.m.

Bible Classes start around 10:30 a.m. on Sundays and will last about 45 minutes. The links below will give you more detail.

In addition to the Sunday morning Bible classes, we offer classes for all ages on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m.

We care about your Family! Here are some options to bless your family’s time here.

  • Staffed Nursery – from 0-24 months 
    On Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, you can find us through the doors at the back of the worship center.
  • Nursing Mothers
    We have a parent’s nursery with a private room for nursing mothers. Visit our staffed nursery for directions/

In addition to regular Bible classes, we gather in each other’s homes in small groups called Life Groups (usually on Sunday nights). The youth and university students also meet in small groups.

Life Groups offer you the opportunity to

  • Develop deeper relationships with other Christians
  • Share joys and struggles; knowing that your group will celebrate with you and pray for you
  • Study the Bible in a small group setting
