Christian Service Center needs any canned vegetables from 10oz. to 16oz. size only.

The AISD Homeless Student Ministry removes barriers that keep homeless students from attending school. They provide school clothes, school uniforms, socks, shoes, underwear, school supplies and backpacks.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • A volunteer to help once a week to recycle cardboard and other
    items, and deliver our excess items to thrift stores. Truck is provided!
  • More volunteers in our receiving room.
  • Help sort clothing and other items that are donated to CSC
  • Interview clients or neighbors when they come to CSC for assistance.
  • Assist people after their interview as they shop for clothing.
  • Serve in food pantry to help shop, sort and organize food.
  • Help fill food orders for our clients or neighbors.
  • Help in the office with filing, data entry, and answering phones.
  • Keep clothing, linen and kitchen departments organized.

FaithWorks helps the underemployed, through personal, career, academic and spiritual development, acquire the confidence and skills for gainful employment.

Global Samaritan Resources is a Christian humanitarian aid organization that collects surplus goods of all kinds: medical and school supplies, tools and equipment, household goods, furniture and more. They provide the logistics for storage, staging and shipment of the goods.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

  • Obtaining more donations to meet these designated needs (water, food storage, PPE etc.)
    Masks could be very beneficial, we do have a few but are definitely running low ( we did get a small donation of bandanas this last week we are also providing)
  • Cleaning support to assist in encampment trash clean-up or providing supplies for neighbors to maintain occupied outdoor areas (trashbags, trashcans, etc)

Houses for Healing offers housing to people from the 19 counties of the “Big Country” undergoing medical treatment in Abilene, TX. Please sign up if you can help.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Help provide food for patient and their care giver during their stay.
  • Help provide transportation to and from Medical facilities and sources of supply such as Walmart.
  • Help with cleaning the tiny house after patient leaves and before the next patient arrives.

Meals on Wheels provides nutritionally balanced meals and supportive services to seniors. The meals are delivered to the homes by approximately 700 trained volunteers. They serve people who live in Abilene, Ballinger, Eula, Hamby, Hawley, Hodges, Potosi, and Winters.
