Classes: 7:00 p.m.
Mid-week fellowship and classes for all ages,
Loaves & Fishes Fellowship (LAFF) 5 times a year
One Sunday of each month, we meet with our Bible class for fellowship in place of our regular Sunday evening groups. This is a time of family fellowship, devotional and sharing. Most groups meet in homes, but there is usually a traditional evening service in the Chapel at 6 p.m. for visitors and those who prefer it.
The doors of Hillcrest opened in 1959 through the faithful and dedicated work of the Graham Street Church of Christ. In 2009, Hillcrest, led by the Holy Spirit to glorify God and to proclaim the transforming truth of Christ, celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Our Golden Jubilee celebration commemorated a fifty-year journey that has been guided by our desire to discern God’s will. Hillcrest has a rich heritage of encouraging social justice, uplifting the downtrodden, and engaging in worldwide evangelism. Through the years, Hillcrest has emerged as a diverse family that creates opportunities for its members to engage in faithful service while striving to grow spiritually.
Our elders have full authority and oversight and provide leadership in all spiritual and scriptural matters. They oversee and supervise staff, mentor the ministerial staff and communicate the needs of ministers to the other elders. Our shepherds define overall goals for the congregation and oversee the Ministry Team structure and approve leadership assignments.
The ministerial staff reports generally to the eldership and specifically to the elder(s) assigned to their areas of ministry. Elders oversee the ministry teams to which they are assigned.
Ministry Teams are led by elder(s) or a ministry-team leader with assistance from deacons and other members assigned to the team. They are responsible for accomplishing the ministry’s goals in support of the elders’ broad goals for the congregation.
The administrative staff reports generally to the eldership and specifically to the elder(s) assigned to administration. They manage the church’s office and support the elders, ministers, deacons and ministry leaders in the administrative aspects of their ministries.
We believe there is one eternal God that consists of the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God the Father loves His children and sent God the Son to take our place in death. God the Spirit was sent into the world to convict the hearts of people to turn back to their creator. God revealed Himself to humankind by being born as a human in Jesus.
